A Drawing I kit is available in the bookstore. The kits are uniform to all Drawing I courses. Ask for a Drawing I kit by course, not by instructor. If you have financial aid, the bookstore kit is a great option. Double check to see that you have all the required supplies listed below. You may also add extra supplies to your kit. If possible, it is recommended that students visit an art supply store for greater selection.
- 1 18″ x 24″ drawing pad, heavy paper (70 pound or more)
- 1 18″ x 24″ newsprint pad
- 1 11″ x 14″ sketchbook (no smaller!) with hard cover
- graphite pencils of each hardness: HB, 2B, 4B & Ebony
- charcoal pencil
- uniball vision elite pen, fine point
- Alphacolor Char-Kole Compressed Charcoal, box of 12 pieces
- soft, or extra soft, vine charcoal
- 1 white plastic eraser or pink pearl
- 1 kneaded eraser
- 1 24″ ruler with non-stick cork or foam to prevent slipping
- low stick paper art tape
- India or Sumi ink (small bottle)
- #8 watercolor brush
- black and white conte crayon
- 1 carrying case
- non-slip sandpaper pencil sharpener
- X-acto knife
- 2 pieces cardboard or foamboard, 18″ X 24″
- additional materials for the independent drawing project final to be determined by each student
